J Dot #PulseOfThe Academy
I'm Jay, AKA J Dot. I've been a DAA holder since mint, and I'm never fucking leaving. I'd define my feelings for DAA as "Love at First Sight", however, my love is not blind. My love is long, hard, throbbing, passionate... sorry, got off track. My love is not blind. We have work to do.
From the Ape's mouth Why I want to be on the Student Council
I love this project, the community we've built, and the promise of what the Degeniverse can be. I love Monoliff's art, I love Mint Squad, I love DTP and I deeply care about the success of the Degeniverse & DAOO. I have a feeling of pride attached to the success of the DAOO, and that's why I'm doing this. I am running for Student Council because I believe that I can make a positive impact from a position of leadership.
I am objective and analytical. I have always been vocal, but level headed about our strengths and weaknesses since the early days of DAA (Proof). You've probably seen my comments in Discord or heard my voice on many DAA Twitter Spaces or Discord Events - and I will continue to be a voice of reason once elected to the DAOO Student Council.
Simply put - I will be a voice for the community. I will work for us. The #PulseOfTheAcademy, you could say. A liaison between you, DAOO leadership, and DAA Leadership.
The weakness I will address: Communication
My Mission Statement: "Gauge the #PulseOfTheAcademy and enable every DAOO member to be heard".
My Purpose: To facilitate action and progress within the DAOO and DAA. Specifically, progress that aligns with community desires. I envision myself filling a "project manager" role in the Student Council.
My Mantra: Leadership through Listening
My Execution Plan:
Proactively gather DAOO sentiment, ideas, praises, and critiques in one place, every month.
Analyze the feedback and group it into action items for the DAOO and for DAA.
Review action items with the DAOO and DAA teams and delegate tasks.
Spearhead relevant action items and see them through completion.
Track progress against these action items and share with the DAOO.
Rinse and repeat until there are no Fudders left. Until the Degeniverse reaches its full potential.
My Weakness: Truthfully, creativity is not my strong suit. I am not an artist or a free spirit. There are many immensely talented people running for Student Council and I can't wait to work with them. I can't draw or make videos, but I know how to identify problems/opportunities and leverage the right people to address them.
A few questions we have What do you think about....
- What do you love most about the Degeniverse?
What I love most about the Degeniverse is the relationships we've created with eachother and our JPEGs. I love that we have so many distinctly identifiable personalities within the DAOO and that many of the OG holders have grown a familiarity for each other, all while welcoming every new member with open arms. I view the DAOO as a family. Dysfunctional and traumatized, but still a family.
- What skillset or experience do you have that sets you apart from other candidates, and how do you plan to utilize it for the benefit of the community?
IRL, I am a Cloud Technical Sales Specialist for a Fortune 50 company. For the DAOO, this translates to my ability to understand complex, technical systems (Hint: Blockchains, Computing Infrastructure, NFT's, etc:) and communicate them to high level executives or in layman's terms. This is relevant because my day to day life revolves around technology and communication, and the DAOO is operating within the forefront of the Web3 technology space. Plus, to be a great salesman, I have to be able to listen to what my customers want, and then tailor a solution to fit those needs. That's my goal with the DAOO - understand the wants/needs of the community, find solutions, and deliver them.
Technological Background (B.S. Information Technology and Systems)

- What would a successful 120 day term look like to you, i.e. what do you hope the council will be able to accomplish?
Within 120 days I hope to accomplish the following as a part of DAOO Student Council
Release 3 DAOO Report Cards
Develop a pipeline of action items for the DAOO and DAA to act upon (it's a marathon, not a sprint, but progress must be tracked and visible).
Inspire confidence within the community that their voices are being heard and work is being done.
Tasks on my mind besides DAOO Report Cards:
Data analysis of existing assets and revenue streams
DAOO member education & reestablishing what it means to be a part of this community
Degeniverse Art Academy
Increased Rarible marketplace participation
DAOO discord overhaul
